Donate for Haiti earthquake relief

By now, everyone should be aware of the tragedy that has befallen Haiti. My alma mater, Hallmark Institute of Photography, today announced a fundraising campaign to help those in Haiti that have been devastated by the recent earthquake. This is a Premier Education Group (PEG) organization-wide campaign that allows all staff, faculty, students, families [...]

Highslide Poll: Does anyone use the Shared Resources feature?

January 18, 2010

This is a question for users of TTG Highslide Gallery and TTG Highslide Gallery Pro. The “shared resources” feature was an experimental idea built into the gallery. At this point, I’m wondering whether anyone actually uses it. Would anyone miss it if it were gone?
The argument against future inclusion of the feature has several points:
1) [...]

New Google Analytics, Custom CSS and Custom Javascript implementations in TTG Pages 3.4

January 17, 2010

TTG Pages 3.4 is now available. With any luck, this will be the last update to this one for a while, because I do have other projects I’d like to spend time on. This update brings several new features and revisions, a few new styling options, and some bug fixes.

Password Protecting Your Image Galleries

January 17, 2010

Tutorial: File Name Conventions

January 11, 2010

It’s been more than a year since I published my first article on file name conventions. The problem with the blog format is that important articles are often buried in time. And the problem with time is that it often changes our perspective on things. The purpose of this article is to once more bring [...]

TTG Highslide Gallery 1.9.2 released

January 10, 2010

TTG Highslide Gallery and TTG Highslide Gallery Pro 1.9.2 are now available. I hadn’t meant to make another release so quickly on the heels of the 1.9.1 update, but bugs happen. This update fixes a critical bug affecting Menu Item 2 in version 1.9.1. It also redresses Cooliris captioning.
For those not wishing to spend a [...]

TTG Freebies

January 9, 2010

There are more than 20 different web engines available here at The Turning Gate. More often than not, its the paid engines that receive the bulk of the attention. After all, they keep this place going and provide me the most motivation to work on them. Many of the engines here are available as free [...]
